Who are the AAMET?

The AAMET (Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques) is a professional, not for profit international organisation for practitioners and trainers of Meridian Energy Techniques. Our aim is to support and grow a vibrant MET community … to make these healing and developmental modalities widely available ... and to pioneer exciting new applications.

Recognised as a professional association, we have approximately 5,000 members from all corners of thw world. We are committed to maintaining high professional standards and developing best practice through our growing and thriving international network.

The AAMET was first established in 1999 by a group of EFT enthusiasts lead by UK Homeopath and Meridian Therapist Dr Tam Llewellyn-Edwards who was awarded Master Practitioner status by Gary Craig, the originator of EFT. The association quickly grew from a small group of like-minded individuals to a strong, multinational entity thanks to his passion and the support of dedicated committee members.

The new website, launched to coincide with a new decade, heralds an exciting new era for AAMET with a new way of working. Our newly-acquired legal status will make us eligible for some grants and help us form strong allegiances with the official bodies and authorities in members’ respective countries. We will also find it easier to network and co-opt with other professional bodies representing the many other disciplines our members are qualified in (e.g. hypnotherapy, homeopathy, psychotherapy, counselling). This will make it easier for us to open more doors into mainstream/conventional healthcare and rehabilitation, and confer greater professional kudos in our endeavours in the fields of education, reform and performance.

Practitioners listed on this website are recognised AAMET members who have appropriate insurance cover and who have signed up to follow our Code of Conduct and Ethics and to undertake an annual mininum number of hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).

The AAMET has a formal complaints and investigation procedure. Click here to read this document in pdf

Non-Profit Organisation

The AAMET or Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques.

Founded in 1999, the AAMET is recognised as the largest international Association worldwide supporting all Meridian Energy Therapies, including Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). As a registered Voluntary Organisation, AAMET abides by a lawful statute and is non-profit making whose committee members work voluntarily. As a professional Association, we have introduced codes of practice and training guidelines in EFT.

These safeguards aren't mandatory but have been put in place to protect the integrity of AAMET and also to indicate that our members are willing to work to those professional standards as well as being subject to our complaints procedure. Read about the AAMET launch here.
